My New Zombie Book Series – Re-Civilize

In case you haven’t noticed, I’ve been talking about a new zombie book series I’m starting called: Zpoc Exception Series: Re-Civilize. The first book “Chad” is releasing as a Kindle ebook on November 15, 2016.

The series will start with novella length books in first person of the back stories of each of the “exception” characters. These will end when their role in the re-civilize process has been established. Basically, the character novellas will take you through the characters’ experiences from when the zpoc happened until they get to where they fall in with the new society.

Why novella-sized? Why so short? Because this enables me to turn out a book every few months rather than years, and I will be able to introduce more characters faster! I plan to turn out a character novella at most every six months.

After I do all the “exception” character backstories in their own words (first person), I will do a series of novels in third person with all the characters from the novellas. I will continue where all the characters’ stories leave off by location. So, yes, you will get more of the characters’ stories later according to where they ended up geographically.

At this point I plan to make the entire series an ebook series. But, later, I will probably put all the character novella stories into one compiled book as a paperback, and the novels will probably appear in paperback at some point too. Otherwise, I’m going straight up Kindle with the Re-Civilize books.

If you’re interested in starting the series from the beginning, go pre-order Zpoc Exception Series: Re-Civilize: Book 1 – Chad now!

Zpoc Exception Series: Re-Civilize: Book 1 - Chad by Rebecca Besser

Chad hates everything about life. He hates his sister for being a brat, his parents for being in denial and pretending life is perfect, and the world he lives in for the adherence to social pressures and norms. He wants it all to go away.

When the zombie apocalypse wipes out the world he’s used to, he’s left alone…and bitten. He’s sure he’ll die and become one of the undead. Instead, he becomes severely sick and recovers…still fully human.

Believing he can’t be the only exception, the only one immune to the zpoc virus, Chad goes out into the world to find others like himself. Once he does, he’s sucked into a plan to re-civilize for the good of all the survivors.

Chad and the other exceptions are expected to protect and provide for the weak and vulnerable survivors. He’s not sure he wants to take on the role expected of him in the new society, but he knows that if he refuses the survivors will die.

The fate of the human race weighs heavily on Chad’s young shoulders and he has to make a decision that he can live with in the new, re-civilized world.
